The Commision Process
If you'r new to this process I know it can seem daunting. My appoach to creating commissioned works is simple and enjoyable and consists of just three steps.

First we explore the possibilities. We'll talk about the space and or any ideas you have in mind. We'll discuss your likes and dislikes and then we'll explore possible imagery and materials and scale.

Next I create a design. Depending on the complexity of the piece being considered, the design may consist of simple sketches, scale drawings, or a scale model. The design fee will typically be 8-10% of the project budget . Design Fees are applied to the cost of producing the sculpture and are non-refundable. For small commissions or when the design is already well understood -as might be the case when creating a work similar to one which already exisits -the design and approval process can be skipped.

With your approval we move on to step three were you ok the design and I provide you with a timeline for completion of your new sculpture.

Our  vision comes to life as I begin to I create the sculpture. Once I've received an initial payment of one half of the the total budget I begin work on the sculpture. Final Payment for the finished piece is due upon delivery, or upon installation if you've decided to have me install the work. You will have an opportunity to review the progress of the piece either by email or in person. I welcome scheduled studio visits.
